Acceptable Use Policy

Fair rules that protect customers, internet users and the OrangeServers platform.

1. Scope

This policy applies to every OrangeServers service and to anyone who accesses or uses a service through your account. You are responsible for making sure your users, staff and customers comply with it.

2. Lawful use

You must not use a service to break the law, facilitate unlawful activity or violate another person’s rights. This includes fraud, theft, unlawful gambling, unlawful financial activity, trafficking, exploitation and the sale or distribution of prohibited goods or services.

3. Harmful content

You must not store, publish or distribute content that sexually exploits children, promotes terrorism where prohibited by law, makes credible threats, incites violence, unlawfully discriminates, or breaches privacy, confidentiality or intellectual property rights.

4. Security abuse

You must not attempt unauthorised access, interfere with a system or network, bypass security controls, distribute malware, operate botnets, carry out denial of service attacks, scan systems without permission, steal credentials or use the service to conceal malicious activity.

5. Messaging and spam

You must not send unsolicited bulk messages, deceptive messages or communications that breach marketing and privacy rules. Mailing lists must use properly obtained recipients, honest sender details and a working way to unsubscribe. Purchased or harvested address lists are not permitted.

6. Network and platform integrity

You must not use resources in a way that materially degrades the service for others, evades plan limits, creates excessive load, interferes with monitoring or damages the reputation of our network. Cryptocurrency mining, public proxies and similar intensive uses require our prior written approval unless the service description expressly permits them.

7. Misleading identity

You must not impersonate another person or organisation, forge message headers, disguise the source of traffic, operate deceptive websites or use false account information. Privacy tools may be used lawfully, but not to support abuse.

8. Intellectual property

You must have the necessary rights to use and distribute content hosted through the service. We may act on valid notices concerning copyright, trade marks and other rights, and may ask for information needed to assess a complaint.

9. Vulnerability testing

Testing your own application is permitted when it is controlled and does not affect other customers, shared systems or third parties. Testing OrangeServers infrastructure or another person’s service requires prior written permission.

10. Reporting abuse

Reports should identify the affected address, domain or service, explain the concern and include relevant evidence. Send reports to [email protected]. We may share enough information with the customer to allow a fair response, unless law or safety requires otherwise.

11. How we respond

We assess reports in context and may ask for more information. Depending on severity and urgency, we may warn the customer, require corrective action, restrict content, suspend a service or terminate an account. Immediate action may be taken where there is serious harm, a security threat or a legal requirement.

12. Cooperation

You must respond promptly to a genuine abuse or security notice and take reasonable corrective action. We may preserve or disclose relevant information where required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety and service integrity.

13. Changes

We may update this policy as services, threats and legal requirements change. The latest version applies from the date shown above. Material changes may also be communicated through the website, customer portal or email.
